The people of Lackawanna County with their strong hands and bold hearts have blessed our area with a large selection of free food assistance pantries.  This web of kindness stretches throughout our area with pantry sites ranging in style from small church basements to the baseball field at Old Forge. There are  mini markets, such as Jackson Terrace and Salvation Army,  drive-ups and deliveries too. It can be overwhelming to navigate.

In short, Coal Country Cares is a large online resource directory focusing on local pantries, meal programs and other food distribution organizations.  

Our Facebook page posts are Mon-Fri mornings a list of the pantries open for that day.

This website has been intentionally built to be mobile & data friendly. We try to present the information in as clear and easy a format as possible while still being visually enjoyable.
